Metroblogging Seattle should rate local politicians

I get tired of the tyranny of the alt weekly’s candidate ratings, which often coddle incumbents while posing as backing some sort of alternative. How many terms of Licata, Conlin, Drago, McIver do we have to have before we ask “how come Seattle politics is still so stagnant”?

Personally, I’m a little disinclined towards showing my support for anyone, just because I’ve turned apathetic from the political burnout. I know I support one challenger against one incumbent, but I’m not saying whom.

But I’m open to suggestions. How should we rate them? What values you think are important?

How about we begin with a shake-shit-up rating. Or something that equates quality outsider skills with anti-establishment tendencies. Seattle could use this. I know … pie in the sky thinking, but I like that idea of a rating like this amongst a more serious set of criteria.
